Week 1
This is the first week of our year two project. Our group consists of Yifan Wang, Jiahong Wu and Maiwen Xia.
In this week, we:
1. Get some background information about our car.
2. Get the outline of the car.
3. Divide the work.
4. Create a logbook and blog and keep recording.
As the development of technology, people are tend to rely on a smart system of home. Sweeping robot is one of them. Inspired by this, our project is making a simultaneously localization and mapping robot.
Based on the setting program, the sweeping robot is able to measure the distance from obstacles and build a rough terrain framework. Although it is hard for us to build a smart car like that, we decided to build a simpler one.
To start with, we needed to get some background information about how to build and program a small car from the Internet. Specifically speaking, we tried to program it through Arduino boards.
After learning some necessary information, we assembled the outline of our smart car.
Also, we have carried out some division of responsibilities.
Followed by some questions about the code, we planned to solve them in week 2, especially the bluetooth connecting and distance testing.
